VISIT CAFÉ TORTONI

The memorable and most emblematic cafe in the city of Buenos Aires,  located in the traditional quarter of Monserrat, was founded in 1858 and today is a real attraction for visitors.

On its historic marble tables and within its walls untouched by time, the legacy of poets, artists and thinkers –such as  Jorge Luis Borges, Federico García Lorca and Julio Cortázar– as well as musicians  –such as Rubinstein and the mythic Carlos Gardel–, was written.

Nowadays, in the first basement of Café Tortoni, tango shows are presented, as a reflection of the National Academy of Tango and the World Tango Museum, emblematic institutions right next to it, also built on the historic Avenida de Mayo.
